The pictures above are of the actual juvenile stock, their colour enhances drastically as they mature. Cousin to the Galaxy Rasbora and they can even cross breed.

    •    Inle Lake, Myanmar

Size:

Lifespan:

    •    3 to 5 years

Tank Requirements:

    •    Tank Size: Minimum 10 gallons (for a small group)
    •    Water Temperature: 22-28°C (72-82°F)
    •    pH: 6.5-7.5
    •    Water Hardness: 2-12 dGH
    •    Filtration: Gentle; they prefer calm water
    •    Substrate: Fine gravel or sand
    •    Lighting: Moderate to subdued lighting
    •    Plants and Decor: Dense planting with hiding spots; floating plants to diffuse light

Water Conditions:

    •    Keep water clean and well-oxygenated.
    •    Perform regular water changes (25-30% weekly).

Diet:

    •    Omnivorous; they thrive on a varied diet.
    •    Preferred Foods: High-quality micro pellets, crushed flakes, live/frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, and micro worms.
    •    Feed small amounts 2-3 times daily.

Behavior and Compatibility:

    •    Temperament: Peaceful and shy
    •    Schooling Fish: Keep in groups of at least 6-8 to reduce stress and encourage natural behavior.

Breeding:

    •    Eggs will hatch in 24-48 hours; fry can be fed infusoria, followed by baby brine shrimp.

    •    Common Issues: Fin rot, ich, and other typical freshwater fish diseases.
    •    Quarantine new fish before adding them to the main tank.
