Description
Don’t be scared of discus, they can be easy and quite hardy if you have the following. Large tank, large filter, quality foods, regular maintenance and most importantly purchasing a healthy fish.
Rafflesia Discus are some of the reddest around once they fully mature. We strongly recommend a quality light to bring out their intense colouration.
Discus need a high temperature 28c as a minimum and 29 to 30c is recommended.
They will also require some dither fish like cardinals and rummynose in order to make the feel more secure.
Dont keep Discus with any aggressive eating fish as they can loose out on food.
Aqua Empire recommends Tetra Discus Bits as the staple food 2 to 3 times daily and a nutrient enriched frozen food once a day.
DO NOT mix discus from different regions, eg European fish with Asian fish as they can carry disease which can easily spread to one another. These Discus are from Malaysia.
