Description

Hellboy Bettas are the most shockingly red bettas available. Please feed a high quality colour enhancing food and use a high quality led light.

**Tank Setup:**
– **Tank Size:** Minimum 5 gallons.
– **Water Temperature:** 76-82°F (25-28°C).
– **Water pH:** 6.0-7.5.
– **Filtration:** Gentle filter to avoid strong currents.
– **Substrate:** Aqua soil
– **Plants:** Live plants like Java Fern, Anubias, or floating plants.
– **Hiding Places:** Provide caves, decorations, or betta hammocks.

**Water Quality:**
– **Ammonia and Nitrite Levels:** 0 ppm.
– **Nitrate Levels:** <20 ppm.
– **Water Changes:** 25-50% weekly.
– **Dechlorinator:** Use a water conditioner to remove chlorine and chloramine.

**Diet:**
– **Primary Diet:** High-quality betta pellets or flakes.
– **Supplements:** Freeze-dried or frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia.
– **Feeding Frequency:** 1-2 times daily, only what they can consume in 2 minutes.
– **Fasting:** One day a week to prevent bloating.

**Tank Mates:**
– **Compatibility:** Generally best kept alone due to aggressive nature but can be kept with faster moving tetras and Rasbora.

**Behavior:**

– **Interaction:** Can recognize owners; provide interaction with a mirror occasionally.
– **Territorial:** Males are highly territorial and should not be housed with other males.

**Breeding:**
– **Male Setup:** Separate tank with heater, sponge filter, and floating plants or a bubble nest.
– **Female Setup:** Introduce when male builds bubble nest; remove female after spawning.
